Facelift San Jose: Teenagers and Facelift

What You and Your Teenager Should Know Before Going Under the Knife

Is your teenager bothering you for a cosmetic facelift? Wondering if rhinoplasty really is the best option for your minor? What are the pros and cons of getting cosmetic surgery?

Getting a facelift is no trivial matter. You can undo what you have “fixed” through rhinoplasty. It’s pretty much a permanent thing.

That’s why if your teenager is considering rhinoplasty, he or she should take a lot of time thinking about it.

What are some things you should consider? Here are some points you and your teen should mull over before making the big decision.

The Pros and Cons of Rhinoplasty in Teenagers

1. The Permanency of it All
Make sure that your teen understands that cosmetic surgery is permanent. She can’t go back to her old nose, for example, once she gets a new one. Can your youngster deal with the permanence of it all?

2. Growth and Development
Teens have not reached full development yet. So, whatever they’re worried about: flat chests, dominant nose, etc. might yet sort themselves out naturally. I always advice teens to wait a couple of years to give their bodies time to adjust. When they’re 21 and still not content about certain features, then maybe that’s when they should start considering rhinoplasty again.

3. Insecurity and Self-Love
Finally, think about this: will getting a plastic surgery really make you feel better about yourself? Self-love is something even a facelift can’t give you.
